What is VoIP?
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol and it's a technology adapted to carry voice (Telephone conversation) using world wide internet connections. This new technology is replacing the traditional telephone systems that were using copper wires.
What is the advantage of VoIP compared to traditional telephony?
VoIP has enormous advantages compare to traditional telephony system. The first and fore most advantage is its the low price point. Traditional business telephone service offered by most major providers cost the end user around $30-$50/mo. and long distance charges. Now compare this to our prices starting as low as $4.95/mo. and low long distance charges. On top of that VoIP technology offers features that either are not offered by traditional telephony or if they are they come at extra hardware costs that must be purchased and installed locally e.g. PBX equipment. Why should I get a dedicated phone number for my business?

Can I use my mobile phone to add the new VoIP number?
Absolutely.
Do I need any additional mobile phone to use your VoIP service?
NO. You can use your personal mobile phone ( iOS or Android ) and add the new VoIP phone number to it.
Will there be any conflict between my personal number and the new VoIP number?
Surely not. Once the VoIP app is installed it will create a new dial pad on your mobile that's different from your default dial pad for your personal number.
Can I port my number to VoIP Direct ?
Absolutely. We will send you a porting request form that needs to be filled out and signed by the account holder of the number.
How long does it take to port my number over to VoIP Direct?
porting the number usually takes 5 business days. However the exact time taken depends on your current carrier and how fast they process the requests.
Do you provide VoIP service in countries other than US and Canada?
Yes. We provide local numbers and call termination to over 100 countries around the world.
Can I pick and choose my new number?
Absolutely. You will receive a list of local or Toll-free numbers and you can choose your perfect number.
Will I be under term contract with using your services?
No. You will not be under any long-term contract.
How can I make a payment to top up my balance?
First, sign in to your account > Click on Balance tab on the left menu > on the balance page click Add Funds Using Paypal.

Why is my balance shows in USD when I am paying by a differente currency?
Due to the nature of our business that provides services internationally and in order to keep the uniformity across the board we can only adopt to one type of currency for the backend calculations. For that reason when you make a payment towards your balance it will be converted to USD at the current rates given by PayPal and the equivalent of that amount in USD will be deposited to your account. We apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause you.
Are there any penalties to cancel my services?
No. You will not be charged any penalties for cancelling your services with us.
Can I get a refund of my balance if I am not satisfied or no longer need the service?
Our refund policy is very clear. If a customer made a deposit and does not want to continue with the Service, for any reason, the Company will refund the Customer in whole, for any unused pre-paid balance (total amount of deposits minus the usage by the customer), upon request, for all new deposits made within ninety (90) days of such request of refund. Any other amounts will not be refunded to the Customer, but will still be available for use.
How can you provide services at such low prices?
We work on volume and pass the savings to our customers by providing the best prices.
Can I upgrade to a higher level plan down the road?
Absolutely. In fact we recommend you to start with a plan that fit your needs today and upgrade to higher plans as your business grows.
Can I downgrade to lower plan without penalties?
Absolutely. You can down grade your plans at any time if you decide that lower level plan suits you more.
Can I make calls to US and Canada?
Absolutely. In fact, Calls between Canada and US are considered local. Depending on the plan you sign up for you will have different free minutes available. Platinum plan includes unlimited Canada-Us wide calling.
How much does it cost for extra minutes over the plan time?
We charge 2cents for every minute over the allowed minutes in your plan except Platinum plan which has unlimited Canada-Us calling.
Can I make international calls?
Yes. However, your international call setting needs to be activated. We can activate international call to all countries or only to specific countries. Please let us know which countries you like make calls to. Please note that international rates apply and we may require it to be prepaid.
Do you offer local phone numbers for all cities in US and Canada?
Yes. once you select and purchase a plan we will send a long list of local phone numbers available for the cities you like to activate the service for and you can pick and choose your perfect number.
Do you offer phone numbers for countries other than Canada and US?
Yes. We have local numbers for more than 80 countries.
I have small company with 5 employees. Can I use your services?
Absolutely. VoIP Direct provides services to business of every size from sole proprietary to large corporations. Please make sure that you pick a right plan based on the features you require.
We have two mobile phones can we have the VoIP service set up so that both phones ring simultaneously when a customer calls us?
Yes. Our VoIP service has the capability to be configured in a group connected mode. All you need is to pick a plan that supports Ring group feature for each device.
How is the audio quality of your VoIP service?
Our services included in all plans have HD-Quality audio. The audio quality is also dependent on other factors beyond our control such as your internet connection consistency, bandwidth and speed.
